The light comes with a switch on the rear of the light to activate or deactivate the quick flash option, the quick flash option will flash the 3rd brake light quickly 5 times then stay fully lit until you release the brake. This quick flash which has been used in auto racing and Formula 1 for over a decade, more quickly alerts drivers behind you that you are braking. The rapid flashing is picked up by the human eyes faster then a steady on brake light, improving safety, especially in stop and go traffic and emergency braking situations.
