This is a beautiful and old Indonesian, Bali, agricultural tool handle.....circa 1890s - 1910.

The top end of the handle depicts a ferocious lion beast mythological creature called Singa...

This handle would've been attached to some now long lost metal implement such as a rake; hoe or even a large sickle (?)

The bottom portion of the hardwood (possibly Teak)? is incased in another but much softer wood - Bamboo.

Some pieces of old cloth bands on the handle - perhaps for tying to some portion of the metal implement (?)

Much patina from extensive handling.

This handle is in very good condition for its old age.....

Measures about 20 inches in length.....

A beautiful Bali Indonesian, artifact!!!..........Looks much better in person!
