A perfect gift for the hockey fan in your family . . .
It is
said that the Ottawa Senators began in 1883, when three Ottawa residents,
inspired by a hockey tournament in Montreal, Quebec, opened Ottawa's first
hockey club. By 1886, the Ottawa team's weekly challenge games against Montreal
had done much to boost the sport's popularity regionally. In 1903, the team won
its first of 11 Stanley Cup titles. Although the Senators folded in 1933,
nearly 60 years later another trio of Ottawans took up the mantle to bring back
the Ottawa Senators. The new Ottawa Senators played their first game on October
8, 1992.
