This UK Free Post 'Buy it Now' is for a Brand New, ex-set, Hornby P9000W Transformer, for use with the Hornby R8250 and R7229 controllers. This is suitable for use with an Analogue, that is a DC Train set, not a Digital one.
This transformer is Hornby's latest, and is what Hornby now supply in virtually all their analogue (DC), Train sets. It has a 500 milliamps output, which is more than sufficient for running all Hornby's recent locos, and it uses less electricity than the older one it replaces. It is probably a little bit under powered for some very old Tri-ang or Dublo Locos, which can draw a large amount of current. This Transformer has a 19 volt DC output which is what is required for the R8250 Controller (not included)
It can be used for other applications than just running your train, but it is not suitable for use with the older R965 Controller. As long as you know what you are doing, you can of course remove the output plug as well to connect it to run your accessories, as long as they are rated to run at 19 volts. The plug provided will not connect to a Hornby Digital Controller - it is also the incorrect voltage for a Digital Controller.
Whilst I have listed this as OO Gauge, it is of course also suitable for HO and N Gauge.
