(Note: I have TWO of these, one is NOS, never hooked up, but kept as a spare in a dusty box of other cables and has some marks on it, the other is definitely used and working, this one has noticeable green corrosion on the silver outer part of the BNC connectors, but the connectivity with the gold pins is perfect. Unfortunately, I didn't realize one was NOS and one was used when doing the photos, and some of the photos had them together, some photos are of one and not the other, etc., but they are identical items aside from as described above.)

This is a high quality monitor cable that is 68" long, with a male HD15 (same as VGA) on one end and a five male BNC connectors on the other end (Red, Green, Blue, Vertical Sync, Horizontal Sync). It has a large ferrite bead in the line to reject video noise.

This cable also has an optional grounding wire with a ring terminal, normally this is not used, but can be as desired. Normally this means lifting up one of the screws in the back of the Sony GDM and connecting it there, but I've never done it or needed it.

This cable is new/NOS, never used, just kept as a backup for a Synclavier monitor in a composer's studio.

This would normally be used with a really high end CRT monitor (Sony GDM-1950, GDM-1951, etc.) and high end graphics card. This would USUALLY be with a PC, as the similar Macs used the plain DB-15, but I HAVE seen the HD15s on Mac NuBus graphics cards and various Avid cards in Macs.

I have a LOT of experience using these sorts of 3 BNC, 4 BNC, or 5 BNC cables, and I can tell you that a lot of systems just need the 3 BNC for RGB and the sync lines just hang disconnected, as the system is really syncing on green. Some have 5 but only use 4.
