An old story tells that when the Mayan people of Guatemala had worries, they would tell them to the worry people. At night they would place the worry people under their pillows and when they awoke, the worry people had taken their worries away.

This handmade product has been made by the Mayan people who live in the highlands of Guatemala. They make their living from agriculture in the rural areas of the country and are often dependant on alternative forms of income.

Fairtrade is a simple way to make a difference to the lives of the people who make the things we love. Fairtrade is unique. We work with artisans, their workers have an equal say in everything we do. Empowerment is at the core of who we are. A world in which all producers and artisans can enjoy secure and sustainable livelihoods, fulfil their potential and decide on their future. Our mission is to connect disadvantaged artisans and workers with consumers, promote fairer trading conditions and empower artisans and workers to combat poverty, strengthen their position and let them take more control over their lives.

Wherever possible, we try to ship as many of our orders using just recycled cardboard packaging. The air-fill we use for our fragile items is 100% recyclable and environmentally friendly too.
