Águedo Alonso (Pinar del Río, February 5, 1938 - Pinar del Río, December 21, 2014). Cuban painter, draftsman, ceramist and professor.

He was a born landscape painter, in his years as a professional painter his creations revolved around nature and the rural landscape where he was born. He went through different stages in his artistic work.

His first landscapes, already graduated from the Provincial School of Plastic and Applied Arts of his hometown, were of an unmistakable beauty and great vigor in the light, and in his temperamental palette he collected the charms of the Pinar del Rio landscape. He was a professor of Landscape and Coloring for many years at the aforementioned school in Pinar del Río.[1] He died on December 1, 1955.

He died on December 21, 2014, victim of a heart attack, after a prolonged illness.

Águedo Alonso (Pinar del Río, 5 de febrero de 1938 - Pinar del Río, 21 de diciembre de 2014). Pintor, dibujante, ceramista y profesor cubano.

Fue un paisajista nato, en sus años como pintor profesional sus creaciones giraron en torno a la naturaleza y al paisaje rural donde nació. Pasó por diferentes etapas en su trabajo artístico.

Sus primeros paisajes, ya graduado en la Escuela Provincial de Artes Plásticas y Aplicadas de su ciudad natal, eran de una belleza inconfundible y de gran vigor en la luz, y en su paleta temperamental recogía los encantos del paisaje pinariego. Fue profesor de Paisaje y Coloreado durante muchos años en la citada escuela pinareña[1] Murió el 1 de diciembre de 1955.

Falleció el 21 de diciembre de 2014, víctima de un infarto, tras una prolongada enfermedad.
