front piece comes out for cleaning
The sheathe can hold several knives depending on their handle width.
Bottom of sheath measures 5" across, the top 6"; width 7/8".
My father-in-law was a union butcher
working for Swift & Co and also Armour & Co.
at the Union Stockyards Chicago
from the late 1930's until the yards closed in 1971.
We believe this is from the 1960s.
This sheathe hung from the butcher's belt and held his working tools - his knives.
