This is a rare piece of Original Artwork for the 1964 Huckleberry Hound Annual. It features 5 different illustrations together on a single board that were used for The Highest Bidder story, which we believe was the first story in the Annual. We do not have the Annual book, so what is shown in the second picture is for reference only, and is not included. We believe this may be all of the drawings for the story, as you can see underneath each is a notation for the illustration and page number. The piece is done on thick Whatman drawing board which measures approximately 15" by 15" and is in very good overall condition, with some minor general handling wear. There is what looks like tape remainder markings (these are dry, not sticky) in the left, right, and bottom margins. Also, there is a fair amount of age spotting (foxing) on the back side of the board, but this is on the back side only, and does not affect the artwork on the front. This is a wonderful piece, featuring one of the most beloved Hanna Barbera characters, who was often grouped together with Yogi Bear, Quick Draw McGraw, and The Flintstones, particularly during the 1960's. This is an outstanding rare vintage piece of Silver Age magic, and a magnificent example to own featuring one of HB's most famous and most iconic characters. It would look fantastic framed and prominently displayed, and would be a key addition to any collection.
