    About the Artist:

 

Lu Hong was born in the coastal city of Qin-Huang-Dao, People's Republic of China. After graduating from high school, he passed the national examination and attend the most prestigious art school in China, the Central Academy of Design and Arts in Beijing. Lu Hong studied ancient art from different culture and researched the primitive artifacts in all ethnic. He absorbed influence by the works of Cezanne, Klee, Magritte, Redon and Picasso. He's mesmerized and inspired by the composers such as Chopin, Wagner, Mahler, Satie and Schoenberg, and writers like Dante, Milton, Baudelaire, Mallarme and Wilde. Seeking intellectual and artistic freedom, he moved to the United States in 1986. After his work was introduced during the New York Art Expo in 1987, he has become one of the most acclaimed contemporary Chinese artists through out the world. His works have been exhibited in France, Holland, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Canada and United States, including Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, San Diego, Baltimore, Washington, Miami, Houston and Honolulu. His works and exhibitions have been published and reviewed by many newspapers and art magazines, including Art News, Art in America, Sun Storm, Quest, New York Times, L.A. Weekly, Chicago Tribune, China World Daily News etc.,
