Rufino Tamayo. (Oaxaca, 1899 - Mexico City, 1991) Mexican painter. Capital figure in the panorama of Mexican painting of the 20th century. This artist was one of the first Latin American artists who, together with the representatives of the well-known "group of the three" (Rivera, Siqueiros and Orozco), reached a truly international prominence and diffusion. Like them, he participated in the important muralist movement that flourished in the period between the two world wars. His works, however, due to their creative will and characteristics, have a different dimension and are clearly distinguished from those of the aforementioned group and their epigones.
