Description:
This is a pair of extraordinary Japanese GINBARI Cloisonné Enamel Vases made in Meiji period (1867 - 1911).
On each of the vases, a peaceful scenery is mesmerizingly depicted. A white heron is resting in a pond where lotus are in bloom. Another heron and many butterflies are flying over the pond. Lotus is a symbol of peace and longevity in Japanese culture.

The vase is stored in the wooden box made of paulownia, which was newly custom made for this pair of vases. In Japan, it has been believed that paulownia box is the best to keep valuable / fragile things for long period of time. (photo #1 & 11).

Overall, they are in excellent condition as antique (made in Meiji period) cloisonné enamel vases. There is no remarkable imperfection on the vase at right hand side.
There are faint imperfections on the other at left hand side. Please review the photo #6 and #7.
  - A discolored line is observed at the inside of the neck (metal part). It is not a crack.
  - A small faint dent, cracks from the dent and a slightly discolored part can be seen.
The shining parts on the photos are reflection of light, i.e., no flow or blemish. Please review the photos.
