This appears to be set up and function like Air Hogs Aero Ace radio controlled planes from the same time period.  It seems to be made of same materials as well.
Though new and still in/on box and untested I would assume the lipo battery may need replacing.

I have seen no others like this one in searches.  I bought it for a nephew back in the day and forgot about it.
