"Suzani (Persian needlework) is the common term for embroidered textiles from central Asia, from a large area which today is part of the Soviet Republics of Uzbekistan and Tadzhikistan. This exhibition, the first in Israel to be exclusively devoted to this ancient form of folk art displays Suzani embroideries from the 19th and 20th centuries."
