Crimp size selection

Crimp size is not always obvious.  It would appear that a 60lb monofilament line with a 0.7mm diameter would need a 0.8mm bore crimp.  This is usually not the case.  The issue is likely to be a mixture of line diameter tolerances, crimp bore tolerances and the line not exactly circular.

In general, but it will depend on the type of line, strength and manufacturer, use the following as guidance.

- If in doubt, buy larger than you would expect.  For example, for 0.7mm line, buy a 1.0mm bore crimp.

- For 40/45lb monofilament buy 0.8mm.

- For 50/60lb monofilament buy 1.0mm.
- For 70/80lb monofilament buy 1.2mm.
- For 90/100lb monofilament buy 1.4mm.

Disclaimer

The above advice is just that, advice.  You need to purchase the correct crimp for your requirement.

Black Nickel Coated

Depending on the supplier, batch or product, the product colour may range from almost bright nickel to a dull black colour.  This is wholly dependent on the manufacturers processes.

At ChimpRigs Ltd we pride ourselves on supplying customers with the very best quality.  However, occasionally the product quality may be less than perfect (i.e. a hook which is not formed correctly, a broken swivel, etc.).  Wherever appropriate, ChimpRigs Ltd policy is to provide the customer with one additional item per product item.  Should you feel this is not sufficient, kindly contact us and we will do our best to rectify the issue.

ChimpRigs Ltd Packaging Note

In some cases (lower quantities) we package the crimps loose in a cardboard sleeve.  Please be careful when opening as they may spill.  Use a suitable container underneath.

We have designed our packaging to take advantage of Royal Mail 2nd class letter postage (75p) where we can. This helps us reduce our costs and pass this onto our customers. We took this action when Royal Mail increased large letter second class from £1.05 to £1.55 in the same year. We were horrified at this increase, so we innovated our packaging design. We hope this change is acceptable. Please let us know of any issues or loss of product when opening. Always happy to address issues.

If you require loose packaging, rather than tight, please let us know. Maybe extra postage costs, but we will reduce where we can.
