Goji berry (Lycium barbarum) has been used in China for more than 2,000 years as a traditional medicinal herb and food supplement. Today, goji berries are considered a superfruit and consumed .. The primary active components are Lycium barbarum polysaccharides (LBPs) composed of various monosaccharides such as fucose, ribose, rhamnose, arabinose, xylose, mannose and galactose.
