  • Bound Issues. There were several ways that these came about or exist. Some are pre-order bindings. Where a company would create a bound book out of their stock of the magazines and deliver it at the end of the year. One person would receive their individual mailed Subscription issues each month at home. Then at the end of the year the issues were sent to a binding company. They would bind your copies and the bound book was sent back to the original subscriber. There are also library and museum versions as well.
  • The first issue was published in March of 1911. The mission of Boys' Life magazine is to entertain and educate America's youth and to open their eyes to the joyous world of reading. This is accomplished through a proven mix of news, nature, sports, history, fiction, science, comics, and Scouting. Currently Boys' Life magazine is a general-interest magazine published monthly in two or three demographic editions for boys from first grade through high school. The covers are the same, but each edition has its own 16 to 20 age-specific pages. The first demographic divisions by age group started in 1995. Boys' Life is the flagship youth publication of the Boy Scouts of America—many stories and articles in Boys' Life reflect the program themes of Cub Scouting and program features of Boy Scouting. Some years they did geographic destination or specific market issues. The demographics of ages and of boys or girls changed in Scouting. Starting in January 2021 Boy's Life was renamed to Scout Life magazine.
