Original, fully-licensed 4 VCD boxed set from a pair of early B&W Hong Kong films. The these films are part 1 and part 2 of the 1963 martial arts / wuxia / fantasy 2-film series, SECRET BOOK, that starred Walter Tso, Fung Wong-Nui, Sek Kin, Lau Tak-Biu, Poon Yat-On and Connie Chan Po-Chu. The films were directed by Miu Hong-Nee. This version of the SECRET BOOK was also released as, New Tale of the Flying Crane. The story of these classic movies concerns a mix of martial arts, wuxia intrigue, magic, the adorable Connie Chan, plus even a few Chinese opera style songs. .............. PLEASE NOTE: These films are in the Chinese language, with NO English subtitles or audio option. ............... The VCDs are from the official Hong Kong release of the films ... produced by Tien Seng Records. I believe they were released in the early 2000s, in very limited numbers. VCDs are Video Compact Disc -- an alternate video format to DVD -- which is widely used in a number of Asian countries. The discs used are produced on CDs, rather than DVDs, so far less information can be held on a single disc. This results in two main differences between VCDs and DVDs. First, VCDs are usually issued in two discs per film, rather than a single disc for a DVD. Second, since CDs hold far less info than DVDs, the video quality for VCDs is noticeably lower than for DVDs. The typical VCD has video quality somewhat better than a factory issued VHS tapes, but well below the clarity in DVDs. VCDs are usually region-free, and they can be played on most standard DVD players -- but you will have to check the compatibility for your player. This is the official licensed release of the film -- it is NOT a bootleg or unlicensed copy. This item comes complete with box, plus all artwork. The VCD comes from a smoke-free, climate controlled home. Overall Condition: SEALED/UNUSED.... This VCD has never been opened and it is still in its original, unused, factory-sealed condition.
