I have been servicing McIntosh units for a while. With years I've developed deep respect toward McIntosh gear . It is a pity to see how many units are suffering from always failing incandescent bulbs! How much money is wasted for services to replace those incandescent bulbs over and over again! After many years of back and forth I decided to develop a perfect/exact LED replacement that has the same color temperature for the meters and greener bulbs for the lettering/paneling. The green color of the lettering, as time and practice showed, fades away and becomes less green. Due to this I decided to develop this green colored LED with foggy lens and proper voltage bulbs.  I got in touch with a manufacturer of LED bulbs and worked with them to develop this LED bulbs. I am glad to announce that I succeeded. I am very happy with the result and am sure you will be too!

These are frosted lens bulbs. The frosted lens allows much wider and even light distribution compared to a clear lens. There is no halo effect with the frosted lens.

1.  4 pieces of 3.5" x 5.5" blue light filter elements, enough for the 2 meters. You can use either 1 or 2  at a time to make different shades of blue. With 2 filters stack together at the same time one should get deep blue color. Old gel filters turned brown and brittle with age due to heat generated by the incandescent OEM bulbs. 

2.  9 wedge 6.3V LED meter bulbs. (1 extra bulb, just in case.) (Much superior in comparison to the original incandescent bulbs. LEDs do not generate any heat. The heat from incandescent destroy the blue meter filters!)

3.  3 x LED #7382 Titanium Body 14V BI-PIN bulb as follows:

    1 x  green in color, specifically to match McIntosh green face-plate lettering design.

    2 x warm white LEDs
