The new postal issue is dedicated to the most famous mine sniffing dog in the world and the mascot of Ukrainian rescuers. Patron, a Jack Russell terrier, serves in the ranks of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and was awarded with a medal "For devoted service".

In 2020, the head of the pyrotechnic group of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Chernihiv Region presented his son with a puppy. The dog was supposed to participate in exhibitions, but the full-scale war brought about changes: Patron demonstrated searching abilities and won the hearts of Ukrainians as a sapper, a blogger, and a wartime symbol. In addition to helping to detect mines, the dog also makes visits to patients at children’s hospitals. He is often present at press conferences and meetings with foreign leaders.
