Our new high quality RJ45 type Infra-Red (IR) Blaster/Transmitter PUC cables allow you to control two pieces of additional, non-B&O equipment such as STBs, Apple TV etc via your Bang & Olufsen BeoVision Horizon 40" 48" and remote control.

The very latest BeoVision televisions and BeoSystems have IR output sockets for the connection of IR Blaster cables. These latest output sockets are normally marked up as PUC1 (A+B), PUC2 (A+B), PUC3 (A+B) - depending on the model in question. If you have one of the older BeoVision TVs (e.g. BeoVision 10 or earlier, pre year 2012) then you will require a 3.5 mm jack connection type IR Blaster cable (see our other product listings.)

The cable simply plugs into the RJ45 type IR output socket on the BeoVision Horizon and the IR transmitter(s) itself can be placed up to a distance of 1 metre away from the equipment to be controlled.

The IR transmitters have a self-adhesive backing which allows the transmitters to be mounted directly over the IR receivers on the set-top box or alternatively to a shelf or cabinet door (as shown in the illustration picture above.) Please note that for best results the IR transmitters are best placed directly over the IR receiver on the connected equipment to be controlled.

Note

Your BeoVision Horizon must have your device equipment loaded into the software list. For example, if you wish to connect an Apple TV and control it through your BeoVision Horizon and remote control, the setup list for the source connections must show Apple TV or Apple Remote under set-top box. If your TV does not show your equipment in the list of sources, then a PUC software update may be required. This is carried out by your authorised Bang & Olufsen dealer/installation engineer. If the TV/equipment is connected to the internet, the list can be updated via an online software update. Alternatively, the software can be downloaded to your computer (via the Bang & Olufsen website) and transferred to a USB memory stick. The memory stick can then be plugged into your TV and a software update completed.

Please check that your BeoVision Horizon has an IR PUC output socket, and that it is a RJ45 type prior to placing your order. We have the 3.5 mm jack plug connection type available as a different product.

The IR Blaster cable comes as standard with two transmitters, each with 3 metres of cable. If your equipment is further than 3 metres from the IR output socket on your TV, you will require an 'IR Blaster Adaptor'. Please send us a message if you require one of these or need help.
