This is an original 1920 hardcover printing of "The Embryology, Development, and Anatomy of the Nose, paranasal Sinuses, Nasolacrimal Passageways and Olfactory Organ in Man" a rare medical textbook written by J. Parsons Schaeffer, published by P. Blakiston's Son & Co., and providing a great look at old medical knowledge of the workings of the human olfactory functions. Lots of detailed illustrations--some of them in color--supplement the interesting text. This copy was part of a hospital library, as described below.

Overall, the copy being offered is in fair condition with various cosmetic flaws. As you'll see in my first five photos, the covers have some scrape marks, noticeable staining, and heavy wear, especially in the corners and at the top and bottom of the spine, where noticeable fraying occurs. A library stamp is affixed to the spine. The binding remains rather strong but does have a few weaker spots, such as the one shown in my final photo. Inside, the pages are crisp and largely clean but do contain occasional minor smudges & stains, in addition to minor staining and rippling along the top edges of the first 50 pages or so (mostly gone by page 50) due to contact with water and best seen in my 6th, 7th, and 8th photos. Also, as you'll see in my 6th and 8th photos, a date-due card and pouch and a personal library sticker are found inside the front cover, and there is a written library decimal notation written with a pencil on the back of the title page.
