Mantle's blast, his 25th of the season, was the second ever hit out of Briggs Stadium. The ball, hit off right hander Paul Foytack, cleared the roof about 110 feet above the 370 foot mark in right center. Don Larsen, (center) pitched a 3 hitball in relief over the last 6 innings and Gil McDougald (left) added a home run. 1956 story.
