Up for sale, a 2021 Fender Custom Shop '62 Jazzmaster Relic in mint condition and in perfect working order. This limited run Custom Shop model comes complete with the original hangtags, COA, case candy, and brown tolex G&G hardshell case. And while this Jazzmaster clearly evokes a 1959 feature set with its gold anodized pickguard, the COA and "Floor Traveler" spec sheet note 1962 as the official model designation.

Fender's Custom Shop Relic instruments replicate the specifications, tonal response, and feel of their forbearers, and this example features prominent factory aging for a well-loved, played-in feel. Lively and resonant at 8lbs 6oz, the guitar has an alder body, maple neck, and a particularly dark thick slab AAA Indian rosewood fretboard. Tonally, there's plenty to be excited about here, with the rich detail, chime, and percussive cut associated with the Jazzmaster single coil pickups, wound to original spec with flat alnico pole pieces and black fiber bobbins. While the bridge pickup is spanky with a touch of growl, the neck pickup has more girth and roundness without sacrificing clarity. Switch to the Rhythm Circuit on the bass side body horn and the neck pickup achieves even more thickness and low end, perfect for singing leads on a small overdriven tube amp or for adding body to your favorite buzzsaw fuzz pedal. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Jazzmaster is dialed in with low action, spot-on intonation and 10-46 strings.

The neck has a quintessential slender C-shaped profile carve, gaining slightly rounder, fuller shoulders as you travel up the neck with rolled fretboard edges for a particularly comfortable and inviting feel. The profile measures .820" deep at the 1st fret and .900" at the 12th. The guitar features a modern 9 1/2" fretboard radius on the AAA Indian rosewood slab fretboard, with flawless 6105 fretwire that has slender vintage width, yet with more height and crown for effortless bending and longer fret life. The guitar plays cleanly in every register up the 25 1/2" scale, and the neck is perfectly straight. The carved bone nut measures 1.650" in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style Fender-branded single line tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well, and the natural nitro gloss-finished headstock face is topped off with a Pre-CBS spec "spaghetti" Jazzmaster logo and Custom Shop chevron on the reverse side.

All of the electronics function flawlessly, and hardware includes a vibrato which has a particularly taut and responsive spring for quick surfy warbles and dives. The anodized gold pickguard contrasts with the ivory plastics, and the guard ensures ideal shielding and a low noise floor. The Seafoam Green Sparkle nitro lacquer finish is quite uncommon when paired with Fender's heavier Relic treatment, and the guitar has been sparingly played since new, ostensibly showing no wear beyond the factory aging.

The original brown tolex G&G hardshell case is included, along with the COA, build sheet, and all hangtags and case candy.
