The Up for sale is (2) silver spalted maple live edge shelf craft boards with live edge. They are kiln dried to furniture grade moisture content and rough planed on our helical head planer to flat.
The pieces are appx 3.25”x12-15”x44”
The inside edges are jointed straight and their length is match cut to be project ready even if you do not have a saw. I tried my best to get them matched for someone that maybe doesn’t have a full wood shop and wants shelves or a river table epoxy set to work on.
These slabs do have insect tunneling in them, they are kiln sanitized so none of this is active. Just the beautiful natural figuring they have left behind.
I don’t normally venture far away from my standard hardwoods but thought We would try some hickory when I came across one.
They are a match thickness and length making them good for a river table or shelving.
These pieces are considered project ready and will only need minor sanding and finish work to be a gorgeous finished slab. They have areas with alittle pithing, rough edge, and seperations but are solid. Please see pics for details.
The blue chalk on the slabs may leave alittle discoloring which should go away with alittle light sanding and rubbing alcohol. Please keep that in mind when purchasing.
There will be minimal movement in the grain or drying period to wait for, once you receive the slabs they are 100% ready to work on.
They were lightly sprayed with rubbing alcohol to bring out the character to see easily. making these perfect for a craft project with alittle added crafting. These are not finished slabs.
They would be perfect to slice for smaller craft projects and shelving and have amazing feathering. Please pay close attention to the pics and make sure this is the right product for your project.
The bark may or may not stay on, I cannot guarantee it. Largest and smallest measurements are taken from the one side with the chalk markings on it. There is a flare sometimes which may factor into the measurments on the other sides of the slab making it larger or smaller.
