*RARE* 1970s Retro Vintage Yellow & Black Derby Tilt Hat w/ Black Dotted Veil.

 

This sassy little retro number is a true vintage find!  It is a 1970's Derby, created by celebrity milliner, John Pico Harberger - aka "Mr. John"... he designed and crafted hats for some of the most influential people in the world during his 40+ year tenure.  He even worked on a handful of movie sets, with the most famous being his design creations for Viven Leigh in "Gone With The Wind".

 

This classy, yellow and black Derby with dotted veil is both stunning and sassy.  It is made from 100% wool and is stamped ("Excello" Geo. W. Bollman & Co.) inside the crown as verification.  The crown is a bright, lemon yellow while the brim and veil are the darkest of blacks, thus creating a magnificent and eye-catching contrast!  The veil is randomly spotted with little fluffed pompoms and a black velvet bow adorns the front side of the brim.  The left side of the brim has a slight upward curve, offering a bit of casual asymmetry and attitude.

 

Worn tilted or on the crown, this Mr. John Classic Derby definitely makes a statement!
