VTG  MID CENTURY STERLING  SILVER CANDLE STICKS-HOLDERS-Revere Silversmiths-MCM

circa 1950.

A beautiful pair of sterling silver candle holders from the Mid -century modern era.  These might even be from a little before 1950 as the linear "step" shape on the base hearkens to the Art Deco style.

A common practice of manufacturing sterling silver items like these was to make a hollow sterling piece and then fill it with cement to give the piece weight and stability.  The base is marked "sterling reinforced with cement."  Pieces are also marked "sterling weighted."

Revere Silversmiths Inc,  is the manufacturer of this lovely set.  Revere Silversmiths were located in Brooklyn, New York and were in business from 1914 to 1955 when they became part of Crown Silver, Inc.

The candle sticks are overall in very good condition.  There are a few small impressions in the silver.  The  bottom of the holders show signs of wear and use.  Please see pictures.
