This Post Card Print created by Claire Wendling is hand signed, autographed by Claire Wendling on the front side of the print in black ink, comes exactly as you see it in the photos.

EACH 4" X 6" SIGNED POSTCARD PRINT IS STORED IN A RIGID TOP LOADER FOR ARCHIVAL PROTECTION AND AESTHETIC PRESENTATION.

There were 12 separate individual Chinese Zodiac Post Card Prints released in the set.

You are bidding on the one shown in the photos, but all 12 will be auctioned off separately and individually.

Here's information on the Chinese Zodiac which is traditionally assigned by Birth Year, but also has assignments by Birth Months (much like the traditional Western Zodiac commonly used in America), so I included some facts below in case you wanted to see which is your match (or the match of someone you'd want to gift this to)

There are 12 Chinese zodiac signs, in the following order: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Each sign is named after an animal, and each animal has its own unique characteristics.

The Chinese zodiac consists of twelve animals that first appeared in the Zhan Guo period [5th century B.C.]. No one knows the exact date as of when the zodiac was essentially created, but they were officially identified during the Han Dynasty [206 B.C.–9 A.D.], which was over 2000 years ago. The zodiac became a popular way to determine a person’s birth year during the North Zhou Dynasty [557-581 A.D.] and is still very commonly used today. The zodiac is calculated by a cycle of sixty years in which each animal signifies a different year.

The lunar calendar paved the sequence of the Chinese zodiac animals. This calendar can be traced back to the 14th century B.C. Myths say that Emperor Huangdi, the first Chinese emperor, in 2637 B.C. invented the Chinese lunar calendar, which follows the cycles of the moon.

The zodiac was based on Chinese astrology and was used as a way to count years, months, days, and hours in the calendar. It was formed from two components: the Celestial Stem and the Terrestrial Branch. Each of the 12 animals stands for a year in a 12-year cycle, a day in the a 12-day cycle, and for every two hours in a 24-hour day. These were used to name each year along with the animal signs, but now they mainly just use the dates.

CLAIRE WENDLING

In 1989, while still in the School of Fine Arts of Angoulême, she won the "Artist of the Future" prize at the Angoulême International Comics Festival and participated in two anthologies published by Delcourt, The Children of the Nile and Entrechats. 

In 1990 began her one and only series Les Lumières de l'Amalou (The lights of Amalou), written by Christophe Gibelin, which won the Press award at Angoulême.

In 1997, she was hired by Warners studio and moved to Los Angeles to participate in various projects including The Quest for Camelot. Failing to acclimatize, she returned to France eight months later and published Desk, a book of sketches made in Los Angeles. In 2000, she did graphic design work for the video game Alone in the Dark IV.

Wendling is an infrequent author: some short stories, a series of sketch books and illustrative works, her complete works are held in a single volume. She has been compared to Régis Loisel, but Wendling is perhaps closer to Anglo-Saxon cartoonists such as Jeffrey Catherine Jones or Mike Mignola.

In 2016 she was one of three shortlisted candidates for the Grand Prix de la ville d'Angoulême, one of the world's most prestigious comics awards, along with Alan Moore and eventual winner Hermann Huppen.

In 2017, she was to be guest of honor at the 75th Worldcon (World Science Fiction Convention), but cancelled due to illness.

All Items are Sent via U.S. Postal Service unless otherwise described.  As many know, postal rates have increased and now factored into pricing is both weight and size dimensions, so oversized items are now more expensive to ship.  I do prepare and handle my packages, using very sturdy oversized packaging materials to protect your item during transit so it is delivered sturdy and secure for you to enjoy quickly in collector’s investment quality condition.  Expect Delivery of the Item in approx. 2-10 days (depending upon your location & method shipped) upon receipt of payment and clearance of funds.  Airmail for International Bidders takes anywhere from 1-2 weeks.
