Vintage Antique Plume & Atwood Round Wick Hooded Cone Shade Oil Lamp Brass Metal

Neat oil lamp, the marked Plume & Atwood on one of the burner parts, and "Made in USA" on the knob.    Believe it to be from the mid to late 1800's, and in fantastic shape for the age. Uses a circular wick and is mounted on the 16" piece of wood by a single bolt on the bottom.  I will unbolt it for shipment and you will have to put it back on when you get it, otherwise shipping will be even more expensive than it already is.

With the board it's mounted on, the dimensions, in inches, are:  18 Tall, 16 Wide and 10 deep with a weight of about 9 pounds.

No damage to globe, there is some typical wear/tarnish/patina to the metal and still some soot in places in spite of my cleaning efforts.   The knob turns easily  but not as smoothly as I feel it should, may need some cleaning to that part~ feels more like it turns in preset increments or "clicks" rather than just a smooth "stop whenever you want" sort of way, if that makes sense.

Someone suggested they thought this could possibly have been used at a ticket depot at a railroad, because apparently those type of chimney guards were common there, but I don't know.  I would love to hear from anyone who does have information about it though.
