If you have not used the camera for a while we recommend you clean the battery contacts by giving them a light scrape with something metallic to remove any build up on them especially the spring in the battery compartment.

Adapter has insulated sides so cannot short on the inside sides of the battery compartment

To use just insert the battery, positive (+) end first into the adapter, then insert the
combination (battery and adapter), battery first into the camera and screw on the battery cover
