Water Hardness Test Strips - 100 strips plus our Guide to Soft Water with steps to test and adjust your water softener.

Simply dip the strip in the water and compare to the chart. If the strip does not change color, the water is soft. The closest color match is your hardness level.

UPDATE: Homeowners have asked if a TDS Meter measures water hardness since sellers are making that claim. The answer is NO! TDS measurements are not the same as water hardness. TDS meters will not tell you your water hardness level DESPITE what sellers say. If you want to know more, send me a message. We've sold over 1 million TDS meters under a well-known brand and never for measuring water hardness.

Why test water hardness?
Water hardness is the level of calcium and magnesium in your water. Hard water causes spots on dishware, shower doors, cars, etc. It builds up inside water heaters and causes early malfunctions and leaks. It also damages coffee makers and other water-using appliances. A water softener will remove hardness if it is working properly. The only way to know if your softener is working or dialed in, is by testing it.
