This is a rare July 12th, 1954 "Playgoer" playbill from the National Tour engagement of the GEORGE GERSHWIN, IRA GERSHWIN and DU BOSE HEYWARD American Folk Opera "PORGY AND BESS" at the Philharmonic Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. (This ambitious revival was produced for the first European tour of the musical which opened October 9th, 1952 at London's Stoll Theatre. Despite this flaw, this rare playbill will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
