Description:
Fine Japanese wooden lacquered hand-crafted Noh theatre mask of Hanakobu akujo (bumpy nosed fierce old man). Age: Ca. 1880-1900. With glass eyes and tensely furrowed eyebrows which create a large, deeply carved V-shaped crease converge at the top of a prominent nose with a distinctive double bump. Veins run down both sides of the forehead. Brown horse hair implanted below the nose, and top of the head. A very fine example and a collectors dream. Fast shipping to USA and Europe!
