Bernard Buffet (1928 - 1999)
Born in Paris, France. He was famous as a genius painter since he was in his twenties. He created a unique style characterized by hard, sharp, thick wire-like outlines and colors close to monotone. Together with the anxious facial expressions of the characters, the screen depicts the artist's uneasy and desolate mental landscape after the Second World War. The female models are often his wife Annabel. In addition to oil paintings, he also produced many excellent prints.
