The Khidakee Rug range is a simple design featuring natural raw jute which has been braided with a stylish off-white border.  Jute is highly sustainable and comes from one of the fastest growing plant types.  Its long, strong fibres make it ideal for weaving.

These lovely products are hand woven by skilled artisan weavers.  Strips of jute are braided and stitched together to give a striped pattern.  The result is a simple flat weave rug around a centimetre in thickness. This makes them ideal for placement under furniture as well as in an open room

CHOOSE FROM FOUR SIZES - If you are looking to mix and match a little then you will find four sizes to choose from. A small 60 cm; a medium 90 cm and 120 cm; and a large 150 cm.  See our other listings for square, rectangle and oval versions of the Khidakee.

ETHICALLY SOURCED - Produced by one of our favourite GoodWeave suppliers and part of a closed network of certified producers. Each rug is individually numbered so that you can be sure of its unique handling and its ethical source. Our certification fees help to fund premises inspection and education centres for children and young people.

ECO-FRIENDLY - This sustainable vegetable fibre is sometimes referred to as the 'Golden Fibre’ and you can see why! Jute comes from one of the fastest growing plant types and its long, strong fibres make it ideal for weaving.  The flat weave style is hand woven on a traditional loom and no machinery is involved. Each one is unique.

CARE OF YOUR RUG - The finished piece is reversible meaning that it can be rolled up when not in use. It can be shaken or spot cleaned if necessary. If placing on a hard floor with heavy footfall then you may wish to use rug mesh or similar to hold the rug in place.  Take care to avoid colour transfer if the rug becomes damp or in contact with sensitive surfaces.
