A beautiful walnut and gold gilt picture frame dated circa 1860's Civil War Era. The frame consists of three layers connected using antique nails. The outer layer constructed of solid walnut with a black ebonized painted inner borders.The middle layer is gold gilt. The innermost layer is a faux burl style with ornate white eastlake designs on the corners. Fits images approximately 8'' x 10''. The space the frame takes up on the wall is approximately 14'' x 16'' and 3'' deep. Frame is wired to hang vertically but can easily be re-wired to hang horizontally. Perfect to hang antique paintings, prints, photographs, samplers, tapestries, mirrors, and much more. Great original antique condition! Wear/scratches to frame due to age.
