This is a scarce Boy Scout RANGER Camp patch from 1997. This was the first year that this design Ranger Camp patch was used. It was designed by Master Sergeant (ret) Mike Smith who was a US Army Ranger, Ranger Hall of Fame Inductee and BSA Scoutmaster. This same design is still used today on more recent BSA Ranger Camp patches.

The Boy Scout Ranger program is conducted by the U.S. Army Rangers at Camp Frank D. Merrill in Dahlonega, Georgia and sponsored by Northeast Georgia Council. It has been run once each year since 1971. The BSA Ranger Camp gives Boy Scouts a taste of rigorous U.S. Army Ranger training. It is taught by U.S. Army Ranger Instructors and selected Boy Scout Adult leaders. Primarily a HIGH ADVENTURE program, it includes Rappelling from 90 foot cliffs, mountain climbing and river crossing using ropes and snaplinks or carabiners. It is a week long confidence building program that starts before sunup each day and goes late into the evening.

This patch is from the 1997 year BSA Ranger Camp. For more information on BSA Ranger Camp, contact the Boy Scouts of America North East Georgia Council. This patch is 100% original. See Photos. AIRBORNE!

With the recent huge increase in U.S. postal rates and requirement for delivery confirmation tracking, we have had to increase the shipping costs for both domestic and overseas mailings.
Additionally the cost of International mail has more than doubled so we may soon have to cease mailing items outside the U.S.
Thank you for understanding.
