The coins have the shape of a circle, with a protruding edging around the circumference on the obverse and reverse sides. The side surface of the coins is corrugated.
Obverse
in the center - a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus and the inscriptions: at the top - REPUBLIC OF BELARUS, at the bottom - the denomination of 20 RUBLES (on silver) and 1 RUBEL (on copper-nickel); in a circle - a stylized wreath of leaves and flowers of cornflower and clover, which is an inflorescence of crafts, closely woven into an infinity circle (a symbol of longevity and happiness); on the left - the year of minting; on the silver on the right is the sample of the alloy.
Reverse
in the center, against the backdrop of a decorative Belarusian rural landscape, is a stylized image of a bridge in the form of a horseshoe with horsemen standing on the sides; inside the horseshoe is an image of a village church; at the top on twisted forged rods in a circle is the inscription: KAVALSTVA.
