A charming miniature hand carved bovine bone button hook.

Likely done by a French Prisoner of war, during the Napoleonic wars, circa early 19th century. Such pieces were made by French prisoners kept in English prisons from 1795-1820. They used leftover soup bones, straw, and anything else that came to hand.

A terrific little miniature, part of many available in our store. The collection covers the gambit, from vehicles, advertisement, miniature metalwork, miniature jewelry, sports, and more.

Overall, good condition. Exhibits signs of age such as surface wear and weathering. As they are part of the description, please enlarge all photographs to better ascertain details and condition.
