Vintage 1930s DKW Herrmann Kuehn German Coin Operation Metal Alarm Clock Piggy Bank?

A rare vintage clock that has the makers mark DKW to the rear case that according to the Mikrolisk watch database website is a trademark name for Herrmann Kuehn Sons, Heiligenhaus, Germany; registered on 02/01/1933.

The clock is quite unusual in that it has a coin slot and money storage area that once had a lock on it. I think when a coin was put in the slot it did something though I don't know what. The clock looks to be of very good quality having a stunning guilloche art deco face, Arabic numerals with inner 24hr numerals and cathedral hands. The metal case has been painted with black enamel paint at some point. The clock stops and starts when shaken and will require a service before use, it is missing its alarm and time setting knobs. It has some wear and tarnishing consistent with age

It measures approx 10.8cm high by 9.6cm wide by 5.5cm deep
