Up for sale
is a Schrade, made in USA, Statue of Liberty medium folding skinning knife
built on the frame of the 123OT. This knife was built to Commemorate the Centenary
of the Statue of Liberty, July 4, 1886~July 4, 1986
The knife
is displayed in a solid timber frame, measuring 265mm x 150mm x 45mm. There is
a clear plastic cover over the front, which hangs vertically in the frame. On
the back is a hook to hang the frame on the wall.
The knife
is the same frame as the 123OT/124UH. It has the most beautiful set of brown
jigged bone(bovine) handles, with a Stirling Silver disc inserted, which is
99.99% pure. The inscription on the disc is “Museum of the City of New York, Stirling”.
The blade
is 80mm long and is etched with the outline of the Statue of Liberty, and
underneath that is a boat load of sailors from the Mayflower landing in
America. The blade is made from Schrade+ Stainless Steel.
The tang
stamp is: “Schrade+ USA LTD”. The closed length of the knife is 100mm.
The
bolsters are nickel silver, while the pins and liners are brass.
There is
a serial # on the top bolster # 3755.
There are 5 of
these for sale and the serial numbers for the other 4 are; # 5272, # 13311, # 11549,
# 0532.
This
knife is one of my all-time favourites. A good size that fits beautifully in
the hand, and is a very good looker. This knife has never been used, carried or
sharpened…it is ‘as new’.
