This is a Vintage Ontario Knife Co. Tru-Edge Fixed Blade Kitchen Butcher Knife Made in the USA.
Features:
1. 6" long X 7/8" at the widest area of the blade Carbon Steel (see photos).
2. 10-5/8" overall length.
3. Handle is a very attractive wood that is marked "Old Hickory", so I assume it is Hickory wood (see photos). The handle on one side is a little darker than the other side but I believe both sides are original.
4. The blade itself says "Tru-Edge Ontario Knife Co." & "MADE IN U.S.A.
5. The tang runs all the way through the handle, there are 2 large pins (see photos).
6. The blade edge has been sharpened and it is sharp now with no nicks. There is some darkening common to carbon steel, but I don't see any pitting from rust.
7. There is no sheath and no box with this knife.
Note: The knife has been wiped down with a clean, soft, dry cloth only and we did not attempt to remove any patina, cleaning will be left to the purchaser. The knife has been used, handled and stored for some time. Any defects we noticed were listed, but we do not assign a level of condition.
