Born in 1909, Ed Shaver grew up in Chicago and maintained a studio in La Grange Park, IL. Known for his landscape paintings and urban scenes, Shaver became active member of the La Grange Park Art League. Today, The La Grange Park Art League presents a juried art award to honor the artist in an annual painting competition, the Ed Shaver Traditional Landscape Award. His work can be found in the permanent collection of the Elmhurst Art Museum, Elmhurst, IL. In 1994, Shaver died at the age of 85.
