Original old folding map printed in 1950 of a section of the River Thames by Alden & Co Ltd, Oxford, extracted from the "Salter's Guide to the Thames" guide book. This section (section 1), illustrates the river from the source of the River Thames near Cirencester to Northmoor, indicated as mile 54 to mile 13 on the map, which denotes the mileage markers from Oxford. There is no print on the reverse. The photograph shows the entire area of the paper, not just the printed area.

The map has been carefully extracted from a dis-bound and no longer usable Salters Guide book. The creases are part of the folding design, although some light fold marks can also been seen. There is no significant edgewear and some light yellowing, although some ageing and wear is inevitable for a map nearly 75 years old.

Other original maps from the series of River Thames maps (8 sections in total) are available in my shop (while stocks last).

Please note: this is an original map extracted from a dis-bound guide book and is not a modern copy.
