This is a rare January 15th, 1946 broadside (single page playbill) from the Pre-Broadway engagement of the RAYMOND SCOTT and BERNARD HANIGHEN musical love story "LUTE SONG" at the Shubert Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts. (The production would open February 6th, 1946 at the Plymouth Theatre in New York City and run for 142 performances.) ..... The musical starred MARY MARTIN and featured YUL BRYNNER, CLARENCE DERWENT, McKAY MORRIS, HELEN CRAIG, AUGUSTIN DUNCAN, MILDRED DUNNOCK, REX O'MALLEY, ALBERTO VECCHIO, LESLIE RHEINFELD, TOM EMLYN WILLIAMS and NANCY DAVIS (six years before she would marry RONALD REAGAN, the future President of the United States) ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) There is heavy creasing, light soiling and moderate edge wear. Despite these flaws, this rare broadside will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
