Victor QL-Y55:
An attractive "Golden Era" direct drive turntable!
Item Description

The Victor QL-Y55F, released only in Japan in 1981 (during the "Golden Era" of Japanese audiophile equipment), is a somewhat less well known direct drive turntable. It features all of the great characteristics you’d expect from a Japanese “Golden Era” turntable, including a high quality of build and some great technical innovations. The QL-Y55F features the same tonearm system as the advanced QL-Y77F, where the tonearm movement is XYZ feedback-controlled via a microcomputer and two coreless linear motors. The cabinet was designed to minimize any vibrational resonances, with a highly dense and robust construction. The QL-Y55F has some impressive stats, including an SNR of 78 dB (DIN-B) and wow and flutter of 0.009% WRMS (FG method). The QL-Y55F features a double servo quartz circuit to control the motor, for stable platter rotation. Additionally, the turntable has as a handsome vintage design. Overall, it’s a phenomenal unit!

This turntable is in very good condition, with a few signs of aging and use (please see photos), including some scratches and wood chipping on back side (please see photos). Dust cover has minor scratches and scuffs (please see pictures and refer to dust cover policy below). This turntable has been thoroughly checked and tested by our professional technician, confirming its flawless operation.
