amiibo figures are a completely new way to interact with your favorite Nintendo characters and games. These figurines have a special built-in chip that uses NFC communication technology. By touching the NFC sensor of the Wii U GamePad, or the dedicated accessory for Nintendo 3DS available from 02/10/2015, with a statuette while playing certain titles, the data on the chip will be automatically transferred to the game, allowing for example the character to appear on the screen. During the games the data of your figurine will also be updated, so by continuing to play it is possible to make your amiibo truly unique! 

New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL incorporate the NFC sensor directly into the console. 

Amiibo allow you to interact with compatible games in so many different ways… But first of all, amiibo are official collectible figurines that every Nintendo fan won't want to miss! 

Amiibo are one-of-a-kind products and differ from similar products available on the market in that they can be used with different games and on different consoles.
