The Gamblers two-year run would be remembered for the terrific play of future NFL great Jim Kelly and the debut of the "Run & Shoot'' offensive scheme in professional football. With long time NFL head coach Jack Pardee serving as head coach and the innovative Mouse Davis at offensive coordinator, their explosive offense became well known throughout football. NFL teams soon adopted the same offense, including the Oilers who shared the stadium. The Gamblers also were the first team to use a no huddle offense outside of a 2 minute drill.
