NEW solderless Marpet memory upgrade kit for expanding the memory on an Atari 520 / 1040 STF and STFM

This kit is ONLY for the 520 / 1040 STF / STFM   *** NOT STE and NOT early type 520 ST with external PSU and floppy drive ***

PLEASE NOTE: Atari made several re-visions to the STFM over the years, even though they all look the same outside, they are not inside and you will need to take your computer apart to verify if this kit will fit

Basically this kit is for 520 / 1040 STF's / STFM's that have the 68 pin SMD surface mounted type MMU chip which is marked either C025912-38 or IMP C100109-001 and socketed Video Shifter chip which is marked either C025914-38A or IMP C070713-002 (video shifter chip in silver box in middle of motherboard on 520 / 1040 STF / STFM)

This kit is NOT for the rarer STFM that has small SMT MMU and GLUE ic's - so please look at the pictures and make sure your STFM has the MMU chip type shown in the picture, if you are at all unsure then message me BEFORE deciding to purchase

If the Video Shifter chip is not in a socket (ie: it is soldered to the motherboard) then you will need to remove (de-solder) the chip and solder in a socket.

So please make sure this kit is correct for your machine prior to purchase

• READ THIS: The MMU adaptor MUST be glued into position as shown in the picture with hot glue while being pushed down and held in place till the glue has dried, This because the socket does not fully engage with the chip as the MMU chip is soldered to the PCB, If you do not glue the MMU down it WILL come off so please ensure you are able to glue the MMU socket and are willing to do this prior to purchase.

Installation manual is included

No soldering required however i personally would recommend to solder the jumper wires rather than using the crocodile clips as supplied (soldering the jumper wires is easy basic soldering)
