- This is what most people do:
Spin the arm (or roll it in the case of the poise) and mark which pole points down, that would be the heavy one. If the arm lands with two poles facing down mark for both of them. I woulld do this more than once, several times - more if it varies much. The one with the highest number is the heaviest. Some people use a Dremel with a cutoff wheel to cut a notch in the heavy pole or file/shave/sand the solder. It is better to take off too little than too much. Repeat the whole thing until the armature stops in completely random places. Some people add dabs of epoxy to the light poles.
